Maria Mendoza Booth, a self-described "Asian-Appalachian Hillbilly" and spoken word performance poet was born in West Virginia and raised in rural Ohio. her spoken word pieces dwell on her unique cultural heritage growing up a first generation Filipina in the rural Midwest and the richness of her family history. Maria's photography focuses on her life spent in both Ohio and also her other homeland, Cebu, Philippines.
